Let's have some good news for a change!

Aren’t you tired of being lambasted constantly with all of the dire news out there? Don’t you think that maybe an infusion of good news would build consumer and investor confidence and, quite possibly, go a long way toward turning the tide and moving our markets and investments toward a more positive note? Isn’t it time we moved past the outrage and started to harness one of the most powerful instruments of change we have?

Energy. Good positive energy. It’s not a new concept. It’s a concept as old as The Bible; pray and believe. Ask and ye shall receive. It also a concept as contemporary as The Secret, popularized by Oprah Winfrey and which teaches us that we create our lives, with every thought every minute of every day and it as retro as The Power of Positive Thinking, one of the biggest sellers of the 1950’s. Regardless of your individual doctrine everyone fundamentally knows that positive thinking, good energy and a strong belief in the power of good is essential to our hope and well being.

Seems every time you turn on the TV, boot up your computer, open your I phone or newspaper there is someone with an opinion on whether the stimulus plan will work or not.
There is a stimulus plan that absolutely WILL work and that is good old fashioned positive thinking coming from each and every person who lives breathes and enjoys a free world.

Just think about it. If every person who is sitting around the house watching the news and obsessing over the economy went to his/ her mate and said; “let’s celebrate our good fortune!”
Wouldn’t that create an opportunity to truly think about the wonderful things there are to enjoy in this world?

So how would you choose to celebrate? Maybe you would head to a beach, park, or trail where you can soak up the beauty of nature for free, maybe you would go to your church where you can give thanks and worship freely, maybe you would treat your family to a meal, be it a burger or two for one lobster dinner. Maybe you would head to the .99 cent store to buy your child a trinket, or head to Saks for a new pair of shoes on sale at half price. Maybe you’ll sit down and write a blog and share your celebration of life. There’s something out there for everyone, and every budget or lack thereof.

Think about the things that give you true joy. If you once thought that true joy was living in a grand home that you suspected would stress your finances, you may now realize that it is more joyous being free of the burden. If you once thought that having an important, prestigious position gave you true joy, you may now find that less stress and more time to enjoy your family is more joyous. If you Google the world’s happiest countries, you’ll find that the USA hasn’t been in the top 10 for some time. How sad. Happiness is a state of mind, a shift of perception. We choose to be happy with our lot in life or to set ourselves up for disappointment with unrealistic expectations. The truth is, we are a hospitable, adaptable and resilient people with a diverse and bountiful world to enjoy.

So get out! Live, Take advantage of your freedom, know that you will thrive, enjoy a simpler life, live love, laugh. Lend your positive energy to the world… hey. It’s all on sale!!

And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.
Matthew 6:28-29 The Bible, New International Version

Empty pockets never held anyone back. Only empty heads and empty hearts can do that. Norman Vincent Peale, The Power of Positive Thinking

Be grateful for what you have now. As you begin to think about all the things in your life you are grateful for, you will be amazed at the never ending thoughts that come back to you of more things to be grateful for. You have to make a start, and then the law of attraction will receive those grateful thoughts and give you more just like them.Rhonda Byrne, the Secret
